The Detroit Women's ProAm brings top women athletes from across the region together in a professional competitive setting that celebrates strength, sportsmanship, and community.
More than a meet, this is a movement to grow the sport, inspire the next generation, and show the word what women in powerlifting can do.

  1. Can I weigh in outside weigh-in times? 
    No. 
    Weigh-in information is below:
    Friday, April 9 only for Saturday/Amateur day lifters
    9am-12pm at Detroit Muscle Gym, 736 Junction. Plymouth, MI 48170 
    5-7pm at Dexter High School, 2200 North Parker Rd, Dexter, MI 48130 (the meet site) 
    NO SAME DAY WEIGH INS!
    Saturday, April 10 for Sunday/Pro day lifters 
    9am-12pm and 5pm-7pm at Dexter High School, 2200 North Parker Rd, Dexter, MI 48130

  2. What am I required to wear?
    A singlet is the only thing required to wear for a 1 piece lifting suit. This is required for all 3 lifts in the Raw Division. For the equipped division, a squat suit and deadlift suit can replace the singlet, however for the bench press you are required to wear a singlet on the outside of your shirt. Knee high socks are not required to wear on the deadlift but are appreciated. Please check the rule book for other questions.

  3. What federation is the meet?
    The meet is the UPA. You must provide your actual UPA card or a receipt of your UPA card valid the day you weigh in and lift. You will not be weighed in unless you show your UPA card, no exceptions. UPA memberships can be purchased here.

  4. Is this meet unlimited for equipped lifters?
    The meet will not allow band shirts or inserts, only standard shirts. It must be one piece. If you are caught using an insert that is not attached to the actual shirt, you will be asked to stop lifting for the day altogether, and we will be checking.

  5. What bars will be used on the platform?
    Squat-65 lbs Westside Bull Dog Squat bar made by Texas Power Bar
    Bench-50 lbs Westside Bull Dog Bench bar made by Texas Power Bar
    Deadlift-45 lbs Texas Deadlift Bar made by Texas Power Bar

  6. Is the meet in pounds or kilograms?
    The meet will be in kilos for the platform 
    The warm up room will be in pounds

  7. Are spectators allowed in the platform area?
    No, only the lifter, official meet spotters and loaders, judges, 1 handler and official meet photographer are allowed in the roped off platform area. This area gets congested on meet day, so please respect the rules and have only 1 coach or handler.

  8. What time should I arrive if I am lifting? 
    If you are in the 1st flight we recommend being there at least 1 hour before the meet starts. We are starting the meet at 9am, so if you are in the 1st flight plan to arrive no later than 8am 
    If you are in any of the following flights, it's at your own will. 
    We will not delay the start of any flight if a lifter is late or not ready.
    We will not move you to a later flight if you miss your scheduled attempt(s). 
    There will be a rules meeting on both days at 8:15am, lasting approximately 15 minutes. This is your chance to ask questions day of, please ask any questions you may have.

  9. What is the refund/transfer policy?
    No refunds or transfers will be allowed, no exceptions. If you choose the wrong day, you will not be transferred, and will not be allowed to lift on the wrong day. 
    If you need to drop out of the meet, please let us know ASAP and we will inform the next next available lifter

  10. What are the qualifying Pro totals?
    Pro totals are listed here
    Pro totals may be completed within the last 2 years, in the respective division you are registering for.

  11. Will there be a waitlist? 
    If you are unable to register because the meet is full, please email meet director JJ Thomas at Detroit_Barbell@yahoo.com with your name, division, and amateur or pro day. Wait list will be created based on timestamped emails after the meet is full. First come, first served.
