strength over suicide 2026

Detroit Muscle Gym is proud to host
Strength Over Suicide 2026

Saturday, December 12, 2026 | Detroit Muscle Gym | Plymouth, Michigan

Strength Over Suicide brings together athletes, families, mental health and community organizations, veterans, first responders, volunteers, businesses, and supporters around one shared purpose: building stronger, healthier, more connected communities.
Part strength competition, part community expo, and part fundraiser, SOS combines physical strength, mental health awareness, suicide prevention, education, and human connection in an event where everyone has a way to participate.
Throughout the day, athletes will take on strength events individually and as teams while community partners provide resources, education, and opportunities to connect. You don't have to compete to be part of it—come volunteer, sponsor, donate, learn, cheer someone on, or simply show up.
Because strength isn't only about what you can lift. It's also about asking for help, showing up for someone else, sharing what you've been through, and knowing you're part of a community.
Strong Bodies • Strong Minds • Strong Communities

More Than an Event

Strength Over Suicide is a signature event of Community Muscle Group (CMG), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to build stronger, healthier communities through physical activity, education, mental health advocacy, and connection.
Proceeds from Strength Over Suicide 2026 will support both Community Muscle Group and Six Feet Over, a Michigan nonprofit providing financial and emotional support to survivors of suicide loss and people with lived experience of suicide while advancing prevention through education and advocacy.
